He would thrive in a home with another playful dog of a similar age, size, and energy level, alongside a family familiar with his unique breed traits. With continued training, socialisation, and guidance, Jax will grow into an exceptional companion who’s both confident and loving. His adventurous spirit and natural curiosity make him the perfect partner for daytime activities, whether it’s exploring the great outdoors, playing games in the backyard or going to your favourite cafe with you.
At the end of an exciting day, Jax is more than happy to settle down for cuddles on the couch, sharing those quiet, precious moments with his favourite people. He’s looking for a family that will appreciate his lively nature and his gentle, affectionate and loyal side.
ABSOLUTE MUST-HAVES for Jax:
- A home with someone who is knowledgeable about or willing to learn about Dachshunds;
- A home without other pets – or with another dog with similar energy and size if willing to do a gradual controlled introduction over a few weeks;
- A safe and secure yard with access indoors;
- A home where someone is present more often than not;
- A home without a cat (ideal not essential);
- A home willing to continue his training;
- Families with no children or children over approx. 8 years old (he LOVES kids though);
- A home without stairs.

Jax’s adoption fee is $800 which covers his vaccinations, desexing, health check, parasite control and microchip.

Adoption Process
We are committed to ensuring every pet adopted from us goes to a suitable loving home where they can live their happy ever after. We also like to ensure that the animal is best matched to the person's circumstances, lifestyle and family (especially other furry family members).
All of our foster cats are adopted to homes that are strictly indoor only or indoor with a cat enclosure or run. All of our dogs require suitable enclosed backyard space and daily exercise dependant on energy level. Our adoption process includes shortlisting of EOIs, video interviews with all household members, house check, adoption paperwork and payment, preparing for your new arrival and pickup.Further information on the process is here.
